About SR Efti.
Shakil Reja Efti, the Founding Director of TMH, is an early-career researcher with a passion for creative media, sound, podcasting, and creative writing. He is a postgraduate researcher at Istanbul University Faculty of Communication and is currently writing his dissertation on sonic representations of diasporic intersectionality through podcasting. He has served as the director of the Bangladesh Study and Research Centre at Istanbul Gedik University and produced podcasts for Radyo Gedik and Radyo Ä°letiÅŸim. Shakil has also written books, published academic papers and book chapters. The core of his work has always been the preservation of intangible cultural heritage through creative media. He is the recipient of the National Talent Awards 2015 and 2017 in the field of 'Language and Literature' in Bangladesh, presented by the Prime Minister. He has also received the COF Thought Leadership Awards for his efforts in creating content to preserve and promote the underexplored cultural heritage of Bangladesh. Take Me Home is a modest initiative by Efti as a small step towards creating the world's largest digital archive of intangible cultural heritage.
